Counselor in Training
Looking for a fun, rewarding, and character-building experience for your teens aged 13 and 14?

The City of Palo Alto's Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is the answer.

On top of participating in all the fun activities our camps have to offer, CITs will also learn important life skills. These skills include effective communication, solving problems, decision-making, and time management. CITs will also learn how to work on teamwork and collaboration as a part of our camp staff while building self-confidence and empowerment. CITs will be the extra eyes and ears of our Counselors and Camp Leadership Team (CLT) while setting a positive example for our campers.

If your teen aspires to become a Counselor in the future, this program is an excellent stepping stone. Many of our current counselors and CLTs were once CITs before joining our staff. The CIT program is not only a great way to learn and grow but also a fantastic way to work as a volunteer.

Please note that CITs must complete an application and interview process to participate in this program. Upon the successful completion of the interview, CITs will receive a registration code to begin their CIT adventure.
